Episcopal charities chicago—advenT: strengthen the weary hands
ADVENT: STRENGTHEN THE WEARY HANDS is a narrative-driven visual project I concepted and directed for Episcopal Charities Chicago, exploring themes of hope, courage, and divine presence through the lens of the Advent season. Inspired by Isaiah 35:3–4, I reimagined the Nativity narrative through symbolic portraiture, centering women from diverse cultural backgrounds to reflect Mary’s role as a vessel of faith, strength, and obedience.
Commissioned as a seasonal gallery exhibition for Episcopal Charities Chicago, the series invited viewers into reflection, empowerment, and anticipation during the Christmas season. The work demonstrates how intentional creative direction can translate Scripture and theology into a cohesive visual system that engages the Church, honors diversity, and prepares hearts for Christ’s coming.
Role: Creative Director, Art Director, Photographer, Makeup Artist
Scope: Concept development, theological translation into visual narrative, casting, lighting, prop styling, shoot execution, and post-production.
